June’s daddy faithfully served in a church for more than a decade bringing many into the Kingdom of God, however He and his wife had difficulty conceiving and bringing a child of their own into this world. So, with the church’s support, they brought June from China to America and adopted her. The church rejoiced with this pastoral family!
June needed a series of surgeries to fix a cleft lip and palette, and she received the medical care. Upon her last surgery, the deacons unexpectedly took June’s daddy into an unannounced meeting and attacked him, pushing for his resignation. After hours of verbal and emotional wounding, her pastor daddy asked, “How am I supposed to take care of my wife and new daughter if you make us leave the church and move out of the parsonage before I have another position?” Without compassion they responded, “That is not our problem.” June’s daddy saw no alternative but to resign.
June’s daddy turned to CfP for healing, emotional support and direction toward another pastoral position. Over a series of months, her family received encouragement, care and counseling. Her family grew closer and developed a wonderful bond in the midst of adversity. June’s daddy heeded the wise counsel he was given, and rather than accepting the first pastorate he was offered, trusted God and waited for the right position.
June’s daddy reports, “If it had not been for the life-giving ministry of Care for Pastors, I’m not sure how our family would have survived. I might not even be in ministry today. I cannot thank CfP enough for how they care for pastoral families!”
